The term RML-Quality Assurance Program (RML-QAP) is seen as a powerful tool to help laboratories to demonstrate their competence in sample testing. QAP enables laboratories to monitor their accuracy and quality of results over time, identify trends and help them to take necessary corrective action.
RML- QAP is designed to monitor laboratories’ continuing performance, identification of problems in the lab and initiation of action for improvement. The program evaluates the laboratory performance against the pre-established criteria by means of inter-laboratory comparison.
Laboratories undertake an external quality assessment program (EQAS) as part of their quality system. Participation in EQAs is a requirement of all laboratory accreditation standards, such as the NABL ISO 15189:2012 Medical laboratories. Particular requirements for quality and competence standards against which most diagnostic laboratories are assessed.
Helps to increase confidence in laboratory performance, which is not essential for laboratories but also for their customers.
The RML Research Foundation, which is registered with society in 2004 is a sister concern of M/s RML Mehrotra Pathology Pvt. Ltd. It was established in 1954 as a humble effort to provide genuine help to patients, by Prof. RML Mehrotra, MD PhD (London) F.R.C. Path, F.A.M.S. The organization realized the importance of correct diagnosis, which leads to proper management of patients. As a mark of its commitment to accuracy and reproducibility, the organization has been performing tests in accordance with ISO 15189 NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratory), India for the last 11 years.
